Id be worried bout stargazer disease that boas get, trip to the vet nd get it checked out as if it is stargazer then its not curable and is infectious to other snakes.

When you say looking up what do you mean? Like lying on his back? that's a symptom of IBD, but if he's just on his front looking up it could be a sign of something else, or just nothing at all.

it might not be the same but i have read that if a python stares upwards for a long time then it could mean it is stressed. not sure if its the same principal or not

he could well be stressed then how big is the viv it is in? you might need to fill the viv with more decor so it doesnt seem like such an open space, i know that is how it works with royals

Doesn't sound like ibd to me as if he has turned him self over promptly then i doubt he has ibd.

What kind of things do you have in the enclosure? i.e branches hides etc?

It sounds to me he may be stressed, if he is eating well and alert when you either open the viv or go to pick him up then i don't think he is ill.

If you let me know the temps, whats in his viv etc i might be able to give you a better idea of whats wrong with him.

Basking spot is about 93F the ambient temps usually between 75 n 80 theres a huge branch in there which is about half the viv in length with a good 10 inch girth on it, theres the hide at 1 end n then at the other end there is the water bowl. humidity usually stays between 55 n 65

Seems like you have everything right too me.

To be honest i dont think there is anything wrong with your boa and unless it has stopped eating or showing signs that it is ill then it should be fine.
